TVWBB All-Star
First, I'd like to wish good health and prosperity for the New Year to all the great people here at TVWBB.
So anyway...the wife, kid, and I were supposed to attend a New Year's Eve dinner with some friends, but unfortunately the host's kid got sick and they had to cancel. Well, the show must go on, so we decided to host the dinner at our place instead. I cooked a Certified Angus strip loin roast on the old Performer, along with a couple brined bone-in chicken breasts, using Nature-Glo lump as the fuel and a combination of wood chips (cherry, apple, sugar maple, hickory) as the smoke wood.
Here's a photo of the uncooked roast seasoned with some homemade rub, along with some action shots...

Here's the finished roast...

All sliced up and ready to serve...

The chicken breasts, deboned, sliced, and seasoned with some more rub...

Chicken breasts drizzled with some maple syrup BBQ sauce I made last weekend...

Overall, the strip loin came out good and tasted fine, but I think I'm more of a rib roast guy. Thanks for looking, and Happy New Year again!
