StokerLog Version 5 Preview

Thanks Amir, I will download and continue my cook with this version.

I checked telent_input.txt file and the word "Java" did not appear in the log at all.

Yes, unfortunately, in that case it does not save the string.

Hence the new build...

Well, the cook finished without the message happening again.

I will be running a high temp cook tomorrow, lets see what happens.

Well the BOSS (ie my wife) has changed my plans again. I did not get a chance to cook today. I may be cooking next weekend, but I'm not 100% sure (ie the BOSS may have other plans for me.)

What I will do is setup everything up and let it run without cooking, maybe we can catch the issue.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your work on this software. I downloaded it THursday and cooked Friday. I got my emails every 15 min. It is a great feature to have with my Stoker.
Is it possible to print the page when finished? I'd like to have a copy so I can review how each cook went.

Jeff,
You can right click on the graph and save it different formats. You could then print that graph out. I would recommend saving it as a .png file.

Thanks Jeff. As Bob mentioned, right click in the graph lets you save it. Most people though, just save the whole output of the program with Shift-printscreen. That way you have all the data including target temps and such.

By the way, I can add code to save the graph data so that next time you start the program,you can reload them and see your cook again. I have not yet implemented it as I think the above methods is good enough but if someone can see another use in it, I can add it to the TODO list.

I can't seem to get it to work. I have hit the shift prt sc button and nothing happens. I also tried hitting the fn button then prt sc. I am not the most computer literate but these should work. Am I missing something?

Jeff, to get the entire window.
With the Stokerlog open
1) Open Microsoft Paint
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
2) Select the Stokerlog window <click on it>
3) While holding the Alt key down press the Print Screen key.
4) Switch to Paint
5) Click on Edit and select Paste
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
6) Now you have a Screen capture of the entire Stokerlog window. You can save this or you can print it.
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
Good luck.

Thanks for your help but it still does not work. It will not give me the option to paste. My print screen button must not work? Maybe Amir would be nice enough to add a print button next go around for the computer challenged like me.

I got the print screen to almost work. I am in simulation mode for stokerlog. I hit alt + prt sc. and then paste into paint. It keeps pasting my google home page and I do not have that open anywhere.

If you are hodling the Alt key down, it should only be grabbing that one window. If you are not having success, make stokerlog full screen and that way, you only capture that even if it is attempting to capture the entire desktop.

Jeff,
What Operating system are you using? Vista or XP?

If you maximize the Stokerlog, as Amir suggests, try holding the Shift Key and then pressing print screen.

I have been using ctrl prnt scrn to capture the entire screen. Then I open up paint and paste. Works every time.

Amir,
I replicated the Stoker hung error.
Here is a Screen shot

And this is the message from the log

Note, 2/26/2008 8:21:37 AM, Str = create_page:io_ex:java.io.IOException: null

I believe this may be related to browser connection that are happening while the Stokerlog is running. This occured aroudn the time I connected to the Stokers webpage from my work this morning.

Wow, that is a nasty bug in the stoker software to spit out something like that. Luckily, the string is somewhat different than what causes the main hang so I could put a work around in there for it. I have email into the developer. Let's see what he says about it before I bursh it under the rug

.

And it would be great if you can force it on demand. Can you keep hitting refresh on the browser to see if it causes that again while my program is running?

It doesnt happen on demand, I believe it is a timing issue. Sometimes I can browse to my hearts content and not see this. Other times one hit and bang it goes.
