Steak dinner

We picked up a nice 5 pack of New York steaks from Costco today.
They were labeled choice but looked really nice.
I held the pack up next to a pack of prime rib eyes and the ribeyes weren’t stealing the show.
Pulled out the slow n sear and hillbilly’ed a reverse sear to them on the kettle.
They came out nice.
I cut the fat bar in a couple places to keep it from possibly curling,
That why it kinda looks off.

The corn was slim pickens, far from great but not that bad.
The potatoes were tasty as was the buttered store bought “boutique” bread.
Ok, I’m a bread snob and think the bread was ok at best if I’m being honest.

Desert will be strawberry popsicles when I settle down.
These popsicles rock.
They are from Walmart and remind me of Mexican street popsicles from down in Baja.

Over all it was a very good steak/meal and we were impressed with the price and quality of the dinner at $8-$9 per plate.

I just ran across a yt vid which explains why Costco steaks are more tender than most: They are blade tenderized! I never knew that. It's in the fine print on the label right there in plain sight! I don't frequent Costco that often. Maybe I should step it up...

I’ve found that same thing with steaks everywhere! It’s crazy! Ordinarily I will dive for the ribeye but, lately I’ve seen nicer strips too! Odd
