Saw this beast on the floor at Garrett Ace Hardware in Healdsburg CA. A mere $5299. The lid is super tall and super heavy, and contains an upper shelf that sits right under an infrared burner on which you could sear the chaps off a steak. It wasn’t powered up, I would have liked to play with the controls. It looked pretty impressive.

That's pretty cool. Only worrisome thing is the electronics IMO like any other grill/outdoor product. Electronics seems to be the weak spot. Would love to see one in action and holding up in rain, snow, brutal cold.

WSK, sears steaks at over 1050F.

Cost's half that price and imparts more smokey flavor.

I'm sure there's a market for a $5300 gasser. I just don't think I'm that market.

Good looking grill though.

It would be a hard sell on me, even if it was all 304 SS. All that tech exposed to the elements is just too much “nope” for me. Looks like a monster though! Not built (or priced) for my patio.

So far, I think the tech (at least if minimal precautions are taken) should hold up OK. After all, it is about the same amount of tech present in both my pellet grills (maybe even a little less), and other than the one issue I had on the initial circuit board I told you about today (not natural elements related but production related), my electronics have been solid. Even exposed to a couple downpours. Biggest worry I have with them is not the electronics but the fuel in the hopper if caught in a rain/snow event
And yeah, I know charcoal this or that. That's all well and good but not everyone wants to or can safely use coals. I personally don't want to because of being on an elevated wood deck. (no coal burners allowed). (personal choice)
But sometime I will be having a concrete patio built nestled in next to my deck. Maybe even with a little cabana on it. And then I might just add a coal burner to my resources.

I just don’t know how I feel about “push button” (what I assume are actuators) for flame control. I’m sure Weber went thru a 💩 ton of testing on them, but just like cars, always be hesitant on purchasing the first model year!

That being said, I’m sure there’s a bunch of (financially very well-off) lifetime Weber owners that will see this, and buy it right up!

I'm surprised it's not voice controlled. You know smart phone, watch, car,tv, thermostat and now a grill.
I'd like to push the buttons and see how that works.
Hey why not? My new Samsung range can be "talked to". I can't bring myself to do that though :D I'm cooking on it for the first time. Making some green beans ala Nona (way my grandma made them). I needed to sauté some onions. I discovered I don't have to stand there and time anything. I can simply tell the individual burners when turn off. I'm liking this!
