A buddy of mine is getting back into charcoal cooking, been using mostly gas, and has been picking my brain for cooking advice.
Said his old 22" OTS is about shot, so I offered him my seldom used, 2009 22" OTG for $75, half of what I paid.
He jumped on it.
I threw in a couple of extras.
Was gonna do these spares on my Maria, but after some rain, it was a sauna out there.
Think I'll try baby backs on it first.
Mix of rubs.
Lump and Kingsford for fuel, peach and pecan for smoke.
Mopped a few times with 50/50 cider vinegar and apple juice.
Garland Jacks bbq sauce.
After 3 hrs.
After 5 hrs. slab ready for sauce, none on the tips.
No foil, just cooked at around 250 for nearly 6 hrs.
Didn't get a supper plate shot, so here's today's lunch.
Some of my best yet
Hope your teams won yesterday, take care.
