Spares on the WSM

A buddy of mine is getting back into charcoal cooking, been using mostly gas, and has been picking my brain for cooking advice.
Said his old 22" OTS is about shot, so I offered him my seldom used, 2009 22" OTG for $75, half of what I paid.
He jumped on it.
I threw in a couple of extras.

Was gonna do these spares on my Maria, but after some rain, it was a sauna out there.
Think I'll try baby backs on it first.

Mix of rubs.
Lump and Kingsford for fuel, peach and pecan for smoke.
Mopped a few times with 50/50 cider vinegar and apple juice.
Garland Jacks bbq sauce.
After 3 hrs.

After 5 hrs. slab ready for sauce, none on the tips.

No foil, just cooked at around 250 for nearly 6 hrs.

Didn't get a supper plate shot, so here's today's lunch.

Some of my best yet

Hope your teams won yesterday, take care.

Bob; looks wonderful!! Great cook!!

I'm a 49er fan and that was a great game yesterday. Very hard fought and the Packers are also very good. I wish them well but hopefully we won't have to play them again this year. Matthews is a beast!

Not only are you a great cook Bob....but you're also a great buddy. Nicely done, way to bring a buddy back into the fold.

Very well done Bob, they look fantastic. Every time I do ribs i do one rack without foiling and I got to be honest, I love them. Beautiful

2 things 1st you are a good man for what you did for the friend. Gave him about $200 worth of stuff for $75.

When I saw it was you and a rib cook I just could not wait to open the thread and enjoy the beauty that was coming my way. You did not disappoint.

Super looking ribs, Bob!! Nice smoke ring and they look really juicy. I always foil, but now I'm thinking about trying a cook without.

Nice ones Bob. Like it all, especially your vinegar sauce.
My teams getting their a** handed to them tonight. (As expected)
Had to turn the channel.

Great looking ribs! Love the color.
Good to hear that your friend is going to charcoal, its the only way to go in my book.
