One 2 lb. corned beef flat soaked in water for 24 hrs. with a few water changes.

Pepper, garlic powder, and coriander for a rub.

IMGP8171.JPG

A bit of hickory for smoke.
Cabbage and potatoes in beef broth.
IMGP8178.JPG

An hour and thirty later the beef was at 160, so it went in the pan, and foil covered.
(also added the forgotten onions)
IMGP8185.JPG

Sliced, after a 2 hr. total cook.

And served by me, to me.

Great stuff, St. Patrick would be proud!

Some of you know that I like to shoot birds, so I hope y'all don't mind seeing the Cedar Waxwing pics that I shot yesterday.
Not the best, due to cropping, but they are a fairly rare around here.

Thanks guys!

Jim, info sent about pic framing in Picasa 3.9.

Bill, I've taken my share of ducks, doves, etc. with a shotgun, just don't hunt much anymore.

Jeff, The pics above were taken around 3 PM after the clouds went away.
A small flock visited earlier in the day when it was cloudy:

Bob, All looks to Perfection on my HD monitor. Wish I could achieve the same photo results. Razor Sharp images.

They are "almost" good enough to make me consider eating corned beef and cabbage.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Happy Saint Paddy's Day Bob.

A great looking lunch for sure Bob! That's something I haven't done yet is corned beef.

Some terrific pics! Those bird shots look worthy of a magazine.

You the man Bob! Excellent looking meal and bird photos. Cedar Wax Wings used to be common here in Pulaski County back when I was a kid but rarely see them anymore.

Great pics Bob. The corned beef looks great, and the Cedar Waxwings are amazing. I've never seen those before.

Lessons from the art of photography and image editing for most of us
