Snake method with lump?

Has anyone used the snake method with lump charcoal?
Will it work? If so how do you like it? I know I can use
KBB I prefer not to.

I have done it. It works but is unpredictable so creates more fire maintenance. I recommend briquettes. If KBB is not desired possibly Stubbs, K Comp, or other would be.

I will have to give the Stubbs a try.

I'm just moving to charcoal from Weber briquettes. Dwain's report is shocking but reasonable!

After using KBB for years I tried Stubbs for the first time. I really liked it. Will not be switching back.
