Smoking Brisket and Ribs in my 22.5 - Temp drop after 5 hrs

I started my brisket at 5:45am this morning. It held at 250 F. for 4 hrs. Dropped to 238 F at 5 hrs. I put the ribs in and the temp dropped to 200 F. Probably due to putting cold meat into the smoker. But, I noticed the coals were getting low and likely wouldn't last another 6 hrs. So, I added about 30 brickets and more wood for smoke to give the ribs some smoke. I'll monitor the temperature at 6 hrs to see if the temperature comes back up. I started with used coals from a previous smoke plus new brickets to fill up the ring. I'm using the minion method. Is this expected? I'll keep watch over it through the rest of the smoke.

You might want to give one of the legs a love tap. The KBB builds up ash and needs to be nudged to dislodge it.

I've not experienced this ash buildup with Stubb's, K Comp, or Lump.
