Smoked tree frog legs anyone?

This little fellow was under the cover of my 14" WSM.
There's almost always one under every grill I uncover.
Anyone else find tree frogs under their covers?

Lots of little frogs here too. A little different variety. About a year ago i found a small snake skin laying on the grate of one of my 22" Silvers.

No tree frogs but did find a small diamond back rattler inside the cabinet of my grill a few years ago. He wasn't the least bit pleased when I opened the cabinet door.
I needed a new pair of jeans anyway.

Back in my surveying days a timber rattler (skin on back of the bar) was ready to strike, but he didn't account for the shovel in my hands.

Wow! that's one good sized snake. The one in my grill was only about two feet if that long. But big enough to scare the crap out of me.

A bit off topic, but a former co-worker of mine served in the USSAF in the Pacific theater back during WWII, but before that, he spent time in India, and he said the GI's used to throw rocks in the tall grass to arouse cobra snakes. The cobras would raise up high enough to see over the grass, and then the soldiers would shoot the heads off the snakes with M1 rifles.

A bit of trivia here - his outfit dropped the A-bomb on Japan.
