Smoked.....onions ???

I love roasted onions and I bet those were fantastic!

Stores around here only have 16 lb bags of the Kingsford. Haven't seen the 20# ones in quite a while.
 
Came for the onions, liked it for the dog. What temps did you smoke them? 300F?

Kept them at about 350-400, hickory chips, cooked for about 1.5 hours, and rotated them halfway through. They are not fully cooked, I leave a little left since we typically use them in other recipes. Pretty much anything that calls for an onion, we use these instead. Great in quiche, and great sauteed or fried.
