Smoke & Fire - Stanley, WI


 
I work with a guy who has some "spare land" around Stanley, so I'll give him a heads-up about the competition.

What's the deal with the drumsticks? Are they regular drums with the end of the bone chopped off and the skin folded over? Or something else?

Yes, they are regular drumsticks and I cut the knuckle off.

Yes and No. You are welcome to come and watch us compete, but we cannot sell anything. (But I can give away samples to family and friends after my turn-ins and I can definitely set you up.) The public is welcome to come out and watch at the park but the Independence Day festival does not start until 3 PM. My turn-ins are at 1 PM and 1:30 PM and the award ceremony is at 3 PM. If you wanted to come by and watch the teams, noon would be a good time. I get really busy at 12:30 and don’t have much time to talk after that until 1:35.

Here is a snapshot of the schedule that I copied off of Big 10 Bones Facebook page… I don’t have Facebook so the picture is a little skewed, but you get the idea. Please make sure to stop by or have your sister and her family find me if they are interested!
Starting at 3 o’clock, they will have beverages, food, music, raffles, fireworks, etc…

For you; I’ll figure out a way to get to the West Coast to compete… or meet you in the middle somewhere!! That way you can join me on the podium for a picture together!

Post your show plans, 3 months out if you can. I’ll figure out one I can do, put my name on the Broker Haul list, and attend a competition with you. If any pretty gals come by, I’ll take care of the Q&A, knowing you’re too busy for that. I’m always here for ya 😂

"Minnesota Barbeque Society" has me picturing a few drunk guys putting Open Pit on lutefisk and washing it down with Hamm's and Grain Belt...;)
