Haven't see too many Robins yet , but the snowbanks are starting to melt a bit and the temps are creeping up into the sensible range....could be some grilling in my fyootchah !

Robin, the State Bird of Wisconsin, is seen year-round lately.. over the last 10 years or so, we've seen them in the dead of winter...
It's the Red Wing Blackbird that is now the sign of spring up here...

The little black cap chickadees and juncos are such hardy little birds. I love to see them flocking around my feeder.
Blue jays are plentiful and even a cardinal now and then.

Fire it up Frank!

I get a kick out of chickadees and tufted titmice.
They get a sunflower seed, fly up to a branch, hold it with their feet, peck on it until it opens, eat the kernel, then fly down for another.
Surely they burn more calories than they take in.

Pigeons and doves, both dumber than bricks but that's what we have until summer and the hummers arrive. But they keep the pups active chasing them out of the yard.

That's funny. I just looked out and there's a mourning dove sunning himself on the clothes line pole.

Here I saw a gang of crows chase an owl from its nest in a stand of pines across the street this afternoon. It hit 49 here today, finally.
