Shiny new 22.5 WSM arriving Thursday!

Hi,

My name is Alyssa and I'm your typical suburban soccer/hockey mom from San Ramon, CA, except for the fact that I'm obsessed with making cocktails and bbq. I was mostly raised in the south which would explain the California girl BBQing.

I finally decided to kick it up a notch, work a couple of overtime shifts and buy a big WSM. Recently bought half a pig from a local farmer and am all set to fire it up.

This board and the YouTube videos have been super helpful and I can't wait to get started on perfecting my bbq.

Thanks for the welcome! Alameda isn't too far from me. I'll have to find her! I find it shameful that most girls leave the BBQing to their husbands and claim that they can't do it. Either that or the men's egos are too big to let the girls try.

Smoker was delivered yesterday and am putting it together as soon as I get the kids off to school. Woohoo! Gonna be a good day!

I'm never very good at figuring out how to get pictures uploaded on these forums so I will read the directions again and work on it.

It is assembled! Thanks to Chris for his informative assembly video. I'll bet only chicks watch that one. I have never seen my husband read an instruction manual. Can't wait to fire it up. Hopefully Monday. The kids have too many sporting events this weekend for me to play with it until then.
