It was baby girls 14th birthday on Monday and like any good daughter, when asked what she wanted for her birthday dinner last Saturday, her eyes lit up and she said "Ribs and Sticks!"
Picked up 8 full racks of BB's at Costco for $80. Meatiest, nicest looking ribs I've seen so far this year and their everyday price is $2.90/lb.
Got them prepped, rubbed and rolled and jammed all 8 of them on the 18.5 with sugar maple and apple wood for smoke. They were pretty thick so I was shooting for 7 hours at 275 using the BBQ Guru.
4 in the basement and 4 in the penthouse, couldn't believe they fit!!
In the meantime I hit 30 chicken sticks with a modified rub with coffee grinds in it and went out and picked up some corn and beverages and ice since we were having 20 people over for dinner.
Not allot of action shots, but here's some the chicken waiting to be eaten.
Hit the ribs with sauce, finished them on the performer and then piled them on a couple of platters.
Coleslaw, corn and potato salad waiting in the wings.
Way too busy for a plated shot, but this one tells me she had a good day!!
One thing I can say is that this cook went off without a hitch, and I owe that to my friends on TVWBB.
