Restored a Genesis 3000 - Family Heirloom


 
Making some progress. Check out that Serial, 11036 I wonder how early that one is?
One oops on the hinge that has to be repaired.

That end cap looks pretty rough, may be able to get on for the cost of shipping from one of the fine folks on here. Not sure your location, but I think I have an extra laying around if you are interested...
 
That's a great offer, I'm certainly interested if we can work it out. Central FL here.

I've been trying to put in a doubler plate from the inside to limited success.
 
One of the biggest differences is where the handle goes. The earlier end caps had an open design where you could see the end of the handle poking out the side. Later, they closed it up.

I've seen three different handle styles on the x000/Silver rectangular style handles.

One is open at the end, and there are two different closed-end styles.

I posted pics some time ago, and if I can find them I'll post them again.
 
This one came from a Genesis 2

The red lid is damaged or it would be stored indoors.
