My grill has seen better days but outside of a little welding, there's nothing major wrong with it. My dad was down for thanksgiving and helped me lay it over on the cart to move it into the workshop.

That end cap looks pretty rough, may be able to get on for the cost of shipping from one of the fine folks on here. Not sure your location, but I think I have an extra laying around if you are interested...

I've been trying to put in a doubler plate from the inside to limited success.

Wes, you definitely need a new end cap. Make sure you give Cody some good photos as they made a few different variations of them that fit those lids.

One of the biggest differences is where the handle goes. The earlier end caps had an open design where you could see the end of the handle poking out the side. Later, they closed it up.

I've seen three different handle styles on the x000/Silver rectangular style handles.

One is open at the end, and there are two different closed-end styles.

I posted pics some time ago, and if I can find them I'll post them again.

I believe one variation also has the bolt holes for the handle closer in instead of centered

Yes, definitely. I think that is a Genesis Silver only end cap.

I have a red lid with those end caps sitting outside as well, big chip out of the porcelain.

This is newer than 2002, but I don't recall what year. The lid gauge is still on the handle, but the outside end is completely closed.
