Rick, Yes, that is the "nut". I called it a "clip". Not really sure what the real name is for them.

It's been a slow process but I'm getting there and putting the pieces back together. However I seem to be missing a part and not sure what it is. Its part #67? Trying to bolt down the control panel but think I'm missing the parts for it. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I might be too late on this, but it is weber part #668 that you need. It comes with two screws and two inserts.

For treating inside tubing (or car frames) I use Fluid Film to coat the inside of the frame rails. I prefer that to paint as it never really "dries". The fancy word for it is thixotropic, meaning it's kind of a liquid/gel that just continues to flow over time. I think of it as a self-healing rust protection. It's also non-toxic. Spray some in the rails and push a loose paper towel through them (the axle works) and then move the rails into different positions periodically until the Fluid Film sets.

Good to know. I ended up getting those license plate nut but couldn't find the right bolt and washer.
Hey Joey, not that this probably matters anymore, but I have since acquired a grill that has the larger square holes for the control panel. It is actually held on by two plastic plugs similar to the ones used to hold car door panels on. I had not seen this previously so I thought I would pass it on.
