Red cool chill (i)

Yes, that is beautiful. There is a blue one for sale near me for $300. It has been sitting there for a while though.

Very nice! So the new one didn't come with the baskets? It's probably a good idea to let it settle before you plug it in.
no, although brand new there was no wine rack and baskets. The wine rack is ok but the internal basket I think will come in handy especially if one has different beers in the chill and each basket can be lifted out. Obviously im now on the lookout for more baskets lol!

Dang, now I have to worry about people from the UK infiltrating my back yard?????

I hope you enjoy that cooler. I thought it would look great just sitting in the corner of my living room. But, he would have had to come down quite a bit more for me to bite.

Brenda, you said you had sourced baskets that fit ok in the chill, can you share details please?
I found a wire basket at WalMart that worked great but when I went back for another one they had discontinued it. So then I found one that's a little different but functional - i think I got that one at Aldi.
I'll try to get some pics this weekend and see if I can find any links.

For the record, I don't think any of the baskets were standard with the basic unit; I think they were optional accessories.

Edit - oh you already know they weren't standard. I didn't read far enough. 😃

This is the one I got at WM. You can see it fits perfectly.

Since I couldn't get a second one, I haven't found another I really like. But this one works okay to hold a few extra cans and elevate the round basket. Or it did last summer anyway - right now it's all still in the shed. 😃

Anyone know how cold the Weber Chill actually gets?

Not sure about the Chill but I believe FDA says a refrigerator should be at least 40F. Much higher than that, bacteria apparently grows fast. I read the best target temp is 37F and a good range is 35-38F. That sound about right?

Probably doesn't matter that much if it just beer and sodas. Probably matters if you put food in there.

Beverages, I like cold!
The 40-140 scale is for foodstuffs, under 40 (retards bacterial growth) over 140 keeps it hot enough to be served. The area in between is a “bad zone” bacterial growth can run rampant!

The “Chill” is made for beverages so I’d like it nearer 35.🍺🍺

Here's one on CL a little north of Spartanburg, SC

That's worth negotiating.
When they first came out in 2003 they were like $450.00?
Summit still offered some in 2012 but like $600, nada no on Weber logo or handle.

I tested mine when I first got it. Don't know where my notes are but it was well below 40. Seems like it was about 35-36. Gets drinks nice and cold - that's all I use it for.
I will say - my testing was done in the garage in spring, maybe April. I noticed after sitting all day on a covered patio in August that it seemed to lag a bit. The drinks were still cold enough to drink though.
