Red cool chill (i)

I tested mine when I first got it. Don't know where my notes are but it was well below 40. Seems like it was about 35-36. Gets drinks nice and cold - that's all I use it for.
I will say - my testing was done in the garage in spring, maybe April. I noticed after sitting all day on a covered patio in August that it seemed to lag a bit. The drinks were still cold enough to drink though.
Good to know. I was thinking to use it in my garage or in an enclosed outdoor room. Sounds like it may struggle in the enclosed outdoor room for any longer term food stuff beyond drinks.

That's worth negotiating.
When they first came out in 2003 they were like $450.00?
Summit still offered some in 2012 but like $600, nada no on Weber logo or handle.
Would definitely have to bargain to closer to $100. It's a bit far away. My garage fridge/freezer crapped out and I was thinking to replace it with separate smaller freezer and also a small fridge.

This Chill could maybe take up duties of the fridge side. I have no doubt it would do cold drinks well but it must be able to handle overflow veggies, meat, and most importantly eggs/milk in order to justify to the boss.

Beverages, I like cold!
The 40-140 scale is for foodstuffs, under 40 (retards bacterial growth) over 140 keeps it hot enough to be served. The area in between is a “bad zone” bacterial growth can run rampant!

The “Chill” is made for beverages so I’d like it nearer 35.🍺🍺
Good info.! I'm with you on frigid beverages! 🍻

It is a beverage cooler, but how economical can it be running 24/7 as a secondary fridge with a plastic lid?

Ooh Mike, I hope I didn't sound like i was recommending that. I honestly would not use mine in place of a frig.
The only food I put in it is cheese or meat etc that is "on deck" for the grill. It is unplugged in the shed when not needed.

I hope you can justify it, 'cause it really is cool and I think everyone will enjoy it. 😃

For the record I paid $125 for mine but I had to drive to Dallas, so I probably made up the difference in gas. LOL

You did good on price. It is very cool looking. It would be perfect for entertaining and a grill session. I guess I was trying to stretch beyond what it was designed for. I have to remember it’s over 20 yrs old too.
