Before you use any power tool (or do any potentially dangerous task, for that matter), ask yourself "What could go wrong?" (remember Murphy's Law?), "How could I get hurt if (when) it does?", and "What can I do to protect myself?" I worked for 40+ years as an industrial safety consultant, and taught this to a lot of people, but still managed to spray Gumout carburetor cleaner in my eye by failing to follow my own advice.
