Q lid repaint

It may also depend on the look you like best. I know @Bruce has a picture of a really sharp one he did where he stripped down to bare metal resulting in a smooth, very shiny finish. Sand blasting seems to leave a slightly rough finish that is closer to the original stock texture. It is a nice look, too, just not as shiny since it doesn’t reflect light as evenly.

Well my first Q lid renovation is started. Attached is pictures before and after sandblasting, next is to figure out what color to spray it with 😊

Well, I went for the easiest solution, black, they also had silver and red. But I was thinking from a selling point, black is a Weber color 👍🏻 It said black matte, but it did not look like that after spraying it 🙄 But after it dried it sure was. I think it looks pretty cool 😎

Yeah I like gloss better as well for ease of cleaning. Red is a nice Weber color. Their old red was actually International Harvester red. I discovered that accidentally. But it matches Weber red perfectly
