Q-220 regulator replacement

I know this has been much talked about, and currently has a thread going, but thought I would share my story.

My Q 220 would only flicker, even using the small tank.
I took the burner tube off, and everything was clear, so I called Weber today.
Gave my serial number, and was told it is out of warranty, and a new regulator is $17 plus $7 shipping.

I then mentioned that I'm a member of The Virtual Weber Bullet site and several members have had problems with the regulator.
I was put on hold, and when she returned she said that one will be shipped free of charge via FedEx.

i wonder if there is more than normal issues with these regulators. hardly read about them on the larger gassers. to close to the heat ?
