Pulled Beef in Mushroom Gravy

Smoked a chuck roast yesterday in the mini WSM and made pulled beef. Today it was the star added into a mushroom gravy over garlic mashed potatoes with zipper peas on the side. Good eats.

Zipper peas are a type of field pea similar to crowders or black eyed peas - true Southern comfort food. Zippers are our favorite because they have a very mild taste and creamy texture.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. Every now and then we all need a good dose of comfort food. Made this for a friend facing an upcoming medical procedure and needed it for her morale. Now, back to healthy eating.
 
Good stuff, Don! I've smoked beef chuck before and I really like your idea of serving it with mushroom gravy. I must try this someday.
