Prime Sirloin Garlic Experiment

These jumped in my cart at Costco yesterday.

The package says "Beef Loin Top Sirloins Cap Steaks USDA Prime."
AKA Coulotte steak.

Two small pieces begged to be my lunch today, so I obliged.
One plain, the other covered with garlic powder and pepper.

After 2 hrs. in the fridge, I rinsed and dried the garlic one, then salted both and left at room temp while heating the grill.
The garlic (front) one looks almost cured.
Prior to salting.

Romaine with evoo, salt, pepper, fresh Parm, and real bacon bits to go with the flatbread and steak.

Started a regular grill height.

My fire could have been hotter, so I moved the grill insert down onto the basket.

Stood on end while the evoo'd bread warmed.
The lettuce was on long enough to wilt the bottom and get some grilled flavor.

Lunch.

Both were excellent, but the garlic one seemed a bit more tender, and the garlic flavor was divine.
My mission was to get garlic flavor on the meat rather than just scorching on the surface.
Mission accomplished!

I plan to try this on a tri tip next.

Forgot to add, these were $7.99/lb, $28 for the package.
I figure 7 person meals for us, or 4 bucks a person per meal.
