Pittsburgh Performer Thank You TVWBB

Thank you TVBB and Tim Snyder, who is both talented and kind When I joined the forum this summer to refurbish my 1999 stainless Performer, I imagined replacing the rusted lid and cleaning and touching up the rest.
That plan changed when I dissembled the cart and rust poured from every tube like erupting Mount Vesuvius. It was daunting. Tim patiently answered my questions and talked me down from the ledge, advising that I focus on one part at a time.
It is embarrassing to admit how many hours were spent grinding, sanding, painting and repainting. I was delayed by a very wet summer and the problems that come with using a backyard as a painting booth - bugs, rain, humidity and my lack of painting skills.
Having spent so much time on the frame, I decided to replace the bowl along with the lid. Weber helped with discounts on the parts I needed most.
TVWBB was there with me every step of the way. I found answers to all of my questions from Tim’s threads and other member posts. It was all there. I can’t thank you all enough for the help.
The project is mainly finished except for finding a control panel in decent shape and figuring out what to use as a replacement for the partially melted charcoal bin handle.
I’m thrilled to have my Performer back in service. I expect to never need another grill.
Thanks again. I am forever grateful.

That's a really nicely done refurb, Jim! I need to get mine in decent shape, too, though it will be to sell it to someone else who can enjoy it. If mine is anywhere close to as good looking as yours, I'm certain I'll get a decent price for it! :)

Great work - looks really nice but you will need one of Tim's tank covers and Performer stickers to make it complete!
