Picked up a 2 year old 18.5" WSM for $50

Scored a deal on a used 2 year old WSM this week that is in pretty good shape. It's missing the water pan, but I don't use that anyway. I use a clay saucer from a flower pot instead. The only other issue with it is the last owner used the heat shield in place of the water pan and ruined it. :mad: I started a thread in the for sale section looking for a heat shield. Please see my post if you have one you don't need. Thanks.
 
Get a patio block sized to fit under the WSM. Instant heat shield. And it won't try to jump off the WSM every time you move it.

Around here, I can only buy new and an 18.5 is probably going to cost me in the region of 500 U$ (if not more)

Nice score. And when you say heat sheild do you mean the sheild that would fit over the water pan? If you used it or not? If so I have been using a 14.5 inch pizza pan for a heat sheild. So far it has worked ok. Cheaper than the $23 or so dollars they cost on Amazon.
