Pastrami Sandwich

Boars head Pastrami, Stella smoked provalone (I like their blue cheese), drained sauerkraut, pickles, & some Jack Daniels mustard. I warmed up the grill on high, turned all 3 burners to low, set the pan on to warm up, & it was around 425f according to the lid thermometer when I put the sandwiches on.

Flipped after 3 minutes. I used a little more than a tsp of blue cheese dressing on each slice of bread...... as soon as I flipped them I turned all the valves to off & set a timer for 6 minutes which worked just fine. I wanted to give it some time to heat through.

Clint that sandwich killing me! It looks so wonderful. Pastrami and kraut and cheese. Does it get any better?

Round two

Made them again for lunch today - this time I made up a quadruple batch of Thousand Island dressing.... a mix of this recipe & this:

And still no freakin' dill pickle?

There were pickle slices on the first, & then todays had a lot of pickle relish in the dressing. I put the freshly minced onion and the bread & butter relish (it called for sweet relish) in the molcajete & smashed it up quite a bit... the texture was still there but it released the flavors. I'm pretty sure you'd have liked it...unless you're talking about a pickle on the side.....and I'm fresh out of those.

Are you like, some sort of a troublemaker, or what?

Pretty much, most of the time :)
