Papa Murphy's on the Platinum

I always enjoy seeing (and eating) pizza cooked on the grill, and after watching Mr McGee's thread, my choice was made for me.... Hawaiian thin crust from Papa Murphy's.

This is my setup - pizza stone on the fire ring from my 18.5" wsm, a little more than a chimney spread out, some apple twigs, and the rotisserie ring to elevate the lid.

It took a little over 14 minutes, and it tastes better than it looks :)

Looks like a great way to do a take n bake pie, Clint! I have all the components, and plan to give it a whirl soon.

Thanks for sharing.

Well Clint, it must taste absolutely delicious, because it looks outstanding. It's kind of ironic you did this post today. (ironic on my end) I was cruising the meat aisles at Costco and eyeballed one of their pizzas. I thought about doing the exact same thing. I have all the improv tools for your set up too. Hmmm

I'd trade ya one :)

I noticed you used baskets, I got mine used & it didn't come with them so I have no idea on how much they measure, maybe you could try not using the baskets & just pour out a chimney, maybe a touch more, and see how the temps do. I've never done one of their Cowboy or thicker pies on the grill, but I will soon now

I got those at Walmart for $14+tax

I find them quite handy, I can push them together either in the center or off to the side for an indirect cook, or split them for an indirect cook with heat on both sides. I really like them, and might spend another $14 so I can run 4 at a time

I've been thinking about trying a papa murphy's on the grill. We make our own pizza on the grill quite often, but I thought sometimes it would be easier just to pick up a papa murphys and save the prep time! Looks like it turned out great! Can't wait to try it for myself now. thanks for posting.

Clint;
That looks REALLY good, my man! I, too, like fruit on a pizza. One of my favorites is fresh figs, prosciutto, and cheese with a simple olive oil brush instead of a tomato based sauce. If you can't find fresh figs, reconstituted dried figs work very nearly as well. It's all good!

I LOVE pizza on the grill but we really prefer home made dough (but I don't turn my nose up at frozen, either:rolleyes:).

Keep on smokin',

Where is Clint? He was messin with Bob's picture and now he's nowhere to be found...Don't mess with Bob!

oh crap - someone saw that? :) He's one of my favorite posters, a great contributor.... the Bacon Made Easy thread alone puts him in the hall of fame IMO.

No disrespect to the man!

I love your pizza. Looks delicious. Great idea on the fire ring. I got a pizza stone for Father's Day and haven't fired it up yet. Thanks for the idea.
