I recently gave my yellow 18.5 kettle to my daughter, yesterday I sent my 18.5 burgundy/maroon/oxblood home with our son.
So now I'm down to the blue Performer, red MasterTouch, baby blue 22, SJ, Q-220, and Santa Maria.

I was only cooking on it once a year, that's when I would hole up in the basement while Jo and 11 other gals played bunco upstairs.

Bob, admit it, your just giving them away to make room for the next ones to arrive. Its just a charade! :-).

My heart goes out to you, not for the loss of your beloved grills but for the bunco. Barb belongs to a couple of different bunco groups, just had one of them here last Thursday and I don't have a basement ugh! I know why women don't fart... they never shut up long enough to build up any pressure.

Bunco is fun to play and while we were having fun Rich was outside cooking our second batch of bacon. He brought that in and the girls went WOW!! Taking orders now!!

Not to hijack your thread Bob but I can sympathize. A friend of my wife came over and after I grilled up some shrimp on the Performer, she commented how good it was and that her daughter always wanted a grill. Nancy pointed to my little 18” pin wheel and said “take that one”. “He hardly uses it”. I bought it for$25.00, got it a new cover and the split grate. I just swallowed hard and helped her load it in her trunk.

Not to hijack you thread either Bob. Similar situation to Rolf. I've got a new Slate SJG I'm going to mod. MrsTUK has volunteered the Crimson SJG to her Mum & Dad. Apparently I can get by on four grills. :p

I think there was some dust in the air, as my eye started to water. :(

"I feel you pain brother. But look at it this way, four grills is more than three grills."

No hijacking worries!

Shows the strength of some of the marriages here. :)
Rich, how's that knot on your head doing after your comment? :p

To be clear, both were given to my kids by my own free will.
I guess I'm carrying on a tradition from my mom and dad.
I don't recall ever visiting them, as an adult, and not coming home with something.
Mom would insist we take home some food, or dad would give me a fishing item, or other things he thought I would like.
I still cherish those items, and wish I could once again taste mom's home cooked meals.

Nicely stated Bob, I lost my Mom when I was thirteen, 55 years ago, seems like yesterday and my Dad 30 years ago.
But it was the same for me with my Dad as an adult, great memories.
Try to pay forward like my Dad did with my kids but there so far away it's tuff sometimes.
Oh and the swelling is going down and the double vision is going away now.

Rich,
If my math is correct, 13 + 55 makes you 68 years young.
I was born in Feb. 1947, so me too!

Sad your parents passed so long ago.
We lost mom in 2002 at age 80, and dad in 2004 at age 84.
I feel blessed to have enjoyed them for so long in comparison.
