Not a happy camper

Ordered a Lodge 5 qt. Double Dutch Oven from Walmart on Apr. 23rd. It shipped from Ft. Worth, Tx on Apr. 24th then both arrived and departed FedEx in Tracy, CA on the 26th. Figured it'd be delivered on the 27th or 28th. WRONG! It showed up in Orlando, FL on May 1st. I can understand mistakes but, after sending it clear across the country in error, they shipped it back, GROUND, to Tracy, CA. I received it this afternoon. Guess they never heard of customer service.

Not over yet. I open the box and it's not what I ordered. They sent a 7 qt. regular Dutch Oven. It was more expensive but not what I needed. At least their return policy is simple and the right one is supposed to be here Monday. Only problem is ----------- I'm sure they'll ship it with FedEx.

Good ol' wallyworld. But hey, you're in Tracy? We need to got Halibut fishing. I normally go out of Emeryville, but if you have a better choice, I'm in. Haven't been Halibut fishing since 2019

When is hali season in the Bay? I’ve been looking at charters out of SF for fishing outside the GG bridge waters.

Reminds me of the time we sent my daughter a box of something, can't remember. Shipped it from Maryland to San Francisco. Should have taken two-three days USPS Priority Mail. When it didn't show up, we checked tracking. Tracking showed it had departed a location in the Bay area, but then no more tracking. Several days go by. No trace. Then it finally showed up in tracking but had a weird location I'd never heard of and the date was BEFORE the SF tracked date. The tracking is reading backwards! What is going on??? Had to google to figure out where this strange USPS location was. Turns out it was in Guam.

Bummer.

You might now want to order from Amazon but here where I live I'm showing I can get one delivered tomorrow, assuming the L8DD3 is what you're talking about.

Edit: I meant to write "you might not want to order from Amazon" rather than "you might now want to order from Amazon."

The season is now, I go out of Emeryville as it's easier to get in and out of than SF, and parking is free

If interested, let's go

I intended to write "you might not want to order from Amazon" rather than "you might now want to order from Amazon." My typo sounded like I was trying to tell you what to do, lol.

I live between AZO (Kalamazoo airport) and the truck hub, they don’t miss me much. Wally World? When I go it’s generally under duress. When the place is under stocked and frankly filthy, I’d rather not. I can’t speak to the delivery service.

I order tons of stuff from Amazon and usually I receive something from them at least two or three times a week. Never had a problem so far. I did have a notification from FedEx that a package had been delivered via Email, I went out front to get it and nothing there. I was going to file a claim with them and just as I was typing it up the dogs stated barking. Went to the door and there was the package. But that's the extent of any issues I've had.

My understanding of FedEx and UPS is their trucks have GPS and sometimes the delivery notification goes out if they drive close by the deliver to address. This happened once to me while waiting for a firearm delivery to my FFL. Showed delivered but it wasn't and then I had bad visions of my device falling into a bad actor's hands. But, it was because the UPS driver's route was to take him past the FLL's address first and then do the delivery on the "turnaround". Scared the daylights outta me

@BFletcher We gave up on Amazon when Prime went up the last time. I can find lots of other things to spend the $139 on. Great thing about Walmart is you can include things they stock at the local store in your order to make up the $35 needed for free shipping and just pick them up at their curbside the next time you pass the store. Free shipping without membership fee works for me.

@Timothy F. Lewis Our store is generally well stocked, has the best produce in town (we're ~40 miles from the grocery distribution center) and is kept spotless.

I've got no real use for Wally World anymore. Absolutely abhor the place. Always felt like I needed a shower after leaving. So haven't stepped foot in them in over 2 years. For me, given the benefit I get from my prime membership I still pay it. I get enough use of the streaming service alone to make it worthwhile

I try to avoid Wally World at all costs. Hate that place. Where I live it's, unfortunately, the only game in town for some things. So I can't avoid it entirely.

That's rural America. Our only alternative without driving 60 miles each way is Safeway. They're a total rip off and have been since Raley's closed up here. The only thing I go there for is their deep deals, usually on meat. Everything else is higher priced than the high quality markets in Reno.

Those who live in big cities and burbs have a much wider choice within a reasonable distance. We don't. I really can't complain about our local Walmart. I only buy cryovac meats there but, other than that, they have a good selection of name brands at prices much lower than Safeway and a lot of the Walmart brands (Great Value) are comparable to the more expensive name brands.

As for those who's Walmarts are dirty, more often than not, that has to do with the people who work and shop there. You'll usually find the neighborhoods they're in are dirty too. Ours is cleaner than the local Safeway.
