Nice idea for a 26" kettle stand off FB

Yeah, Big Green Egg stuff is definitely after the high-end buyer. I have noticed, though, that used BGEs don't hold their value quite as well as they used to. Still pricey, though.

For that money you might be able to have someone build you a nice custom cart.

Not sure how the wood would hold up next to a kettle as a BGE is insulated and the 26" is not.

There is a lot more competition in the Egg market than there used to be. I also think a lot of BGE folks may have converted to pellets for automated cooking?

The kettle would not not sit directly against the wood, there would be some bracket or spacer involved.

Yeah, the metal stand has its advantages. You and EricV are absolutely right about the 26, or any regular kettle, needing some kind of bracket or spacer. On the old "Sequoia" wood cart Weber used brackets to make air space and also metal flashing around the perimeter of the opening where the kettle went in.

Looks the part for sure but really needs 4 brackets imo. Showstopper for me would be the lid, the 26 inch lid is big and heavy and without a bale it makes using cumbersome.
