This discussion topic was started in July 2003.

The bulletin board in February 2000, the beginnings of the Web site in June 1998.

Regards,
Chris

When Doug said BBS I was thinking of a dial up BBS server ... remember? with the 16 color ASCII graphics and menus? ... before there was widespread public internet access I used to dial over my phone line into different services directly perhaps as early as '92 or '93 with my zippy 2400bps modem.

Still 6 years is quite an accomplishment, I love the TVWB website and come to think of it I don't really miss the 16 color ASCII screens and the big phone bills...

Cheers

I have had the good fortune to know several of the clever fellows that were key architects back in the DARPA days. I've been in this data telecomm business for a very long time. This web site represents the best of what the Internet has to offer and is precisely the kind of dialogue envisioned by them (beyond their initial charter of survivable military communications). It is less about commerce, Chris' paltry commission aside, and more about people finding kindred spirits and sharing knowledge.

Chris, in your own fashion, you are a visionary.
