Hello everyone. I’m currently the owner of 2 Genesis 1200 grills that I’m planning on restoring. (One to keep and one to give to away). I’m totally new to this and I was wondering if there are other carts that are compatible with my model? My current keeper cart is in great condition (kept out of the elements so very very minimal rust) but I’d like a slightly larger cart if possible.

You can put a 1200 firebox on a 2000/3000/4000 cart if you can find one. It don’t think you can make it work out on a Silver/Gold extended cart which is designed to accommodate the firebox with only five flavorizer bars.

Any genesis 1000-5000 grill frame should work. I am not sure if the 1200 has the extra shelf on the right side or not, but if not, then get one that does and that will give you a lot more room. Also, you should be able to add an additional swing table to the right side.

Here is the Genesis 2000 which should fit your cook box just fine. https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/gasgrillparts/weber/genesis-2000-lp.html

Or this one for even more space: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/644999977853055478/

Post up some photos of your grills if you get a chance.

Those are some nice grills for restoring and it should be an easy swap over to a Genesis 3000 frame with the added shelf space.

Here's a picture of my gen 1000 in a 3000 frame that I converted to a 2000 and added a right swing up. You can pretty much mix and match the 1000-5000 series.

I was only going to do the black one but I found the redhead and needed to have that lid. I’m going to do a practice restore on the redhead first since it’s my first one. Plus it’s propane so I can’t use it anyway.
