Need a nice fresh vegetable side dish recipe

I'm having some friends over and the menu is standing rib roast with twice baked potatoes. I'm looking for a nice fresh vegi side dish, something light and crispy probably not casserole style unless it will really blow everybody away. Maybe on the idea of green beans, or asparagus, or something out of the box. Anybody got a guarantied winner?

Brian,

One of my favorites is not cooked on the grill (probably could but I never tried it).

Anyway, the recipe is posted below. Quite tasty and different.

French Green Beans

1 large bunch French style green beans
1 tbs butter
1 clove garlic, minced
½ inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and finely zested or grated
1 tbs soy sauce

Steam or boil green beans until just done (about 8 to 10 minutes)

Sauté garlic and ginger in butter for about 2 minutes, then add soy sauce.

Toss green beans with butter sauce and serve.

Saute diced onions in butter and some minced garlic add some Italian Mix and add to just about any cooked veggies.. baby spinach, green beans, mixed veggies, etc.

To simplify substitute chopped (dehydrated) onions in place of fresh.

Italian Mix

Chopped Onion
