My Grill is 30 Years Old Today

Back in 1988, my girlfriend thought it was odd that I didn’t own a television.

I liked her enough that I told her let’s go buy at TV.

Leaving the appliance store, there was a woman standing outside in front of a grill. “Would you like a chocolate chip cookie?”

She lifted up the lid and gave us both warm cookies. It was a Weber grill.

Fast forward, we got married in 1991, bought a house and settled in to the two income no kids suburban lifestyle.

You can’t have a house in the suburbs without a grill, right?

It was a given it would be a Weber, because warm cookies.

Still married, same house, a little older, slightly wiser, and still rocking the Genesis 1000.

Happy birthday old girl.

Happy 30th birthday to your grill and you John. I'm right behind you with my gen 1000 LX with 29 years. Now it's a LX 2000 and still going strong. I also still have the receipt for mine also.
Barb and I will celebrate our 40th this year.

We had our Spirit 700 for 29 years and gave it to a good friend last month.
It’s looks changed a bit but it never quit working.
Edit: second picture added.
