And some guys like to replace them with shiny stainless steel ones for a contrasting look, which is fine too. I just prefer the traditional look of them being painted to match.

Yeah the stainless ones don't look right to me either. To me unpainted isn't a far stretch from original but I understand I have my nitpicks also.

I’ll decant some high heat clear in a jar and paint them.

Just stick the bolts through a piece of cardboard to hold them upright and spray them, it will only take a minute.

How does the manifold attach to the frame? Thank you in advance! I did use the search bar to no avail.

You are missing the manifold bracket that goes on the manifold and clips to the frame to hold it in place. They often fall off when moving the grill around.
