My first score of the new season

I go for the Platinum C's myself. I grabbed two of them today.
The one on the other side has a black lid though. The guy bought a new lid for it. I asked him why and he said the old one "cracked". ????

I will probably swap that black lid out for a SS lid and put the black one on a Silver B rehab.

I messaged the guy with the black lid platinum. I wanted to get a better pic of it but he seemed to not want to send more.

Yah, that is an S670 that is beyond help. It is a parts grill. What a shame. It has the cook box rot.

The grates worth repurposing? They always clean up good for me out of those Summits

Yah, they will need to be cut down though. Too long to fit a Genesis. Thing is though, they are wide bars but spaced too far apart IMO.

Yeah, I agree with the finicky tastes some of us have, but they will still look great to a lot of buyers on a flip grill. You can truthfully say they were taken from Weber's top of the line Summit.

Yes, they are nice non-magnetic grates. I did notice the SS on the summit shelves,. lid and body is magnetic however.

I also tested my LX S240 Genesis on my deck and all the SS on that grill is Non-magnetic. Not sure what Weber was thinking with the much more expensive Summit.

Id give you $50 for the dirty old grates if I lived close to you. They are not 9930s but still have value to me.

It's kind of dark in my garage to begin with and my eyes aren't what they used to be. I will need to pull this cart out in the sun to really look, but I think I have it at least 90% done. I also think I'm about there on this cookbox too. I cleaned it up pretty well inside and out and I'm prepared to live with it at this point. There's too much of the original finish left to justify repainting it.

I'm going to put a coat of wax on the control panel but it cleaned up pretty well!

The control panel is pretty close to perfect, which is super important to me. If that doesn't look good I lose interest in a grill pretty quickly. The outside of the cook box does have some flaws, but like I said, not bad enough to warrant repainting. I still have to give the same treatment to the side burner, almost forgot about that baby.

Making some progress. I finished detailing the frame and the wheels. I reinstalled the cook box, the new wheel inserts, the new igniter, and put the cleaned up manifold and burner tubes back in.
