My final two grills - went a bit overboard

Totally fun and different! I hope you will later decide you still need to do more grills, but you are certainly going out with an amazing flourish!

I am trying to adjust to the likelihood that I will be forced to the sidelines as I leave all my projects and most tools behind until Faith and I can find a solution to finding a place to buy while living on the run. I had to repack and store the nice parts you sold me:cry:. Kind of a tough situation, but there is something ahead🙏.

Maybe you and us both will stumble on some really cool fixer-uppers - a grill for you and a house for us - that we won't be able to walk away from:)!

I have always been a fan of industrial steampunk design. And so thought I give it a try.
I found this blog from a guy who did a kettle where I copied my design from. But then I could not find a steampunk gasser. So I created my own. Originally I wanted to use the old style 12” cast iron wheels on the gasser till I figured out that the doors won’t open anymore. So I kept the original wheels. Used faucet handles as gas handles. Replaced the thermaset tables with oak tables. Added lots of cogwheels. Good thing I have plenty of bike spare parts. I took me a few months to complete.

Well, not yet, there's no motor opening the lid......

I know a few people who'd be very happy with something like that. One of them (okay, a couple, actually,) built an iris for a 4' square window out of laser cut stainless petals, a 12v motor, and complete with a non-contact safety system (stops when you get within about an inch of it.)

I never really considered that Stefan was going to sell them. I thought it was a custom/personal mod. Yah, I would love to know how selling them goes.

Let’s see if I find a crazy buyer for two crazy grills. I have some other artistic projects I am working on.

I’ve wanted to make a pig roaster that looked like an F-5 mandolin!
Using one of the tuning keys as a exhaust vent control venting out the top of the peghead and the lower “ff” hole as an intake port.
Sadly, I have no metalworking talent, tools, equipment, or, shop space!
Found a really nice picture
