My Craigslist find

Hello all,

New guy here. Lifelong gas guy since birth. Recently felt the need to experience the world of charcoal.

Research shows that Weber kettle owners are a seriously loyal bunch. Decided I needed one!

Found this guy locally on Craigslist:

$50 later, I'm in business!

Date code says 2011, with a little elbow grease she cleaned up like new.

So far, I've only been able to cook once on it, but so far, so good. It's definitely a different experience than cooking with gas. But I think I like it.

Learning lots from you guys, thanks for the great info!

Regards,
Greg

That's a great grill and a great price! Enjoy :)

It's nice to get them slightly used. That way you don't even need to break them in!

Nice looking find. Just know, that "felt the need" feeling will now just get stronger. Weber's are like potato chips....can't stop at just one.

Hi Greg, just a word of warning, don't think about a Platinum Performer, don't look at a Platinum Performer, and most of all, what ever you do, Do Not touch a Platinum Performer. Oh hell you're already thinking about it. You're lost. Good luck and good cooking.

Weber kettles are awesome and can do so many things, I have always loved them. Performers always seemed nice but not really necessary(although I've always wanted one), just some nice added features, nothing you can't live without.

But man do those features add up and make one hell of a nice package! The first little one I noticed and appreciated was the added height of the kettle in the cart. My back really appreciates that. :)

Great deal!!!
Wait until you roast a 20# turkey on it for thanksgiving.
You can make LOTS of brownie points with the spouse, relatives, or as applicable because the turkey will be delicious, and meanwhile back in the kitchen, it has freed up the oven for all the rest of the thanksgiving offerings.
