Long time no post. Sold mine years ago and just got a used WSM 18. Found it on the side of the road. How does it look and any tips on it's condition?

I think it was kept outside without a cover. There was water in the bottom when I picked it up and rust is showing on the lid edges and other places. But otherwise I think it looks good? Very solid. It needs new grates. I sprayed WD-40 "outside" on the bottom air vents but it not help. They will not turn. The top vent does turn. Any tips on the vents or anything else? I sprayed it down with a hose but still needs to be wiped with a wet rag.

I think it was made in 2009???? The lid damper has "DE". Still built like a tank!

Will do. Should I tap on the bottom vents with a rubber mallet to try to get them to turn?

Agreed, this stuff works great. It will literally dissolve the rust, I've been using it for years.

DE code on the lid vent = 2009. First year with the built-in thermometer in the lid and the deep water pan.

In addition to the Gibbs, PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench will also work to loosen your vent wheels.
