Locally made smoker pellets

I'm new to pellets so have been looking around at all the stores. I saw a bag or two of those at Academy Sports.

It stood out because I had never heard of Plummond. Web site says $25 for 20 lbs.

Seems a bit expensive compared to other main brands. Is it different enough to be worth a shot?

They are definitely among the best brands, but I am not really sure you would notice so much difference to be worth the high price. The Plummond is a combination of their two main offerings: Plum and Almond.

I think before I spring for more of theirs, I am going to give the pecan shell ones that Tom Horsman (and others) rave about and say that you CAN tell the difference. They are also very pricey. I need to work through some of what I have before I buy anything more!!!

Yeah for what those Smokin' Pecan pellets cost it's very hard to justify them. Maybe if they were mixed with more conservatively priced ones it might work
