Just had a liver sausage sandwich for lunch.
First ingredient listed is pork snouts, so you know it has to be good!
Oberle Meats says they've made sausage since the 1870's.
Located in Ste. Genevieve, MO, founded in 1735.

One of my favourite snacks. I'll cut a slice off and dip it in a side of mustard. Just like that. Maybe some chippies on the side and a brew to wash it down. Wifey asks "you're eating what?? Since she's scottish, I'll then ask "howza haggis dear?" She leaves me alone :D

Something I gotta have once in a while. The sausage, American cheese, yellow mustard between two slices of bread, Yumm, I'm hungry now!!!

Don't know about everybody else here in Milwaukee - but here's how WE do Liver Snausage sammies:
  • Start with some lightly toasted light rye / pinwheen rye
  • Coupla' thick slices of Usingers Liver Sausage or Braunschweiger
  • Add a few paper-thin slices of Onion
  • Dot with just a little Ketchup
  • Stuff it in yo' pie hole / Enjoy

The Usinger sausage looks different from your stuff - about 3-1/2 inch diameter
hand sewn casing of thick intestine or pig stomach
