So I made a really untraditional lasagne last weekend. Very tasty. Inspired by a recipe from years back...can't remember the source but I've made this several times and it's always a hit. Again, quite untraditional...purists beware.
I often make my own pasta. My wife (Italian heritage) has a great saying: "Why make it when (insert brand name here) makes a perfectly acceptable product?" I abide by this rule when it comes to things like phyllo, for example, or certain pasta brands. But my ravioli are really good, and she gets it. I'm mostly Scotch-Irish fwiw.
So this whole lasagne is built around my homemade cheese ravioli. It's a great shortcut but totally unorthodox. 3 dozen homemade cheese ravs for this cook. And that's the only challenging thing about this. I used a really good jarred sauce, good basil, and some grated cheeses. Baked for a while and served with a Caesar. Not many pics...sorry.

Almost a weekend, folks. Enjoy.
