Kettle Pizza Deep Dish


 
I just picked up a 15" Lodge Cast Iron Skillet and I'm going to give this cook a go. I'll do the 3-4 minute crust precook on my side burner of my Genny, top the pizza and then move it into my Genny at 500+ degrees. Wish me luck, Nate is a tough act to follow. Speaking of Nate, has anyone heard from him? Hopefully he survived this extra wet winter
 
I'm here ChuckO. Just happened to look at the site while taking a break cleaning up the back yard and saw your post. Been real busy, not to mention I'm driving from El Dorado Hills to Tracy every day for work. That windshield time is killing me, not to mention no time for grilling. The wet weather hasn't helped either. Also trying to get our house ready to put on the market, so there's a lot of moving things to storage and house staging. Packing up the grills in the back yard, except for a couple, and taking to storage. Still have a few more grills to pack up but here's my start.

Good to hear from you Nate! I know all about long commutes. Good luck with the sale of your home. If memory serves me, it's a beautiful place, you should do well

How long and at what temperature? That's a great looking pizza.

Wayne, I cook at around 450 degrees and rotate 180 halfway through. Halfway through is a judgement call, you have to keep an eye on the pie and look at the crust, the crust that is in contact with whatever cooking vessel you use. Here are some other posts of mine.
