Just Saw This And Was Appalled.


 
I could see if it was a confederate flag, or if this wasn't in the USA. I think the competitors responded appropriately!
 
Well, seeing as its Fox News doing the reporting, I'd say that there might be some "cherry picking" of the facts detailed in that article. Maybe provide another viewpoint.

I'm not saying it didn't happen. I'm just saying that there might just be a twisting of the facts to suit their sensationalist style of "reporting".
 
Hah! And it happened to Jeff of Give It To God, go figure. Jeff's a cool dude, got to meet him at a local comp and rooted for him on an episode of BBQ Pitmasters. Glad they all re-raised the flags in defiance!
 
They should not have complied with the request to begin with, but glad to see that they had the guts to raise the flags again.
 
What a ridiculous story. If it was up to me you should be kicked out of the competition if you do NOT fly an American flag... Ok that may be extreme but good for them for putting it back up and standing up for what they believe in.
 
Reading the article it sounds to me like misunderstanding and poor communication between the contestants and judges followed by poor reporting by FOX. It sounds to me like maybe people were asked to take down signs and or banners that might be considered offensive to others and so people thought they had to take their flags down too. Afterword it became understood that flags were ok and so they were raised up again. Sounds like much ado about nothing to me.

he went on to say some pretty outrageous "poop"... so, I am happy

So in what sense could someone consider a countries flag a sign? It would never cross my mind to categorize a flag as a sign.
