Today was the day to baptize my new JJ with fire, charcoal fire that is ... :cool:

Needed to grill some sausage that I will be adding to a Chicken & Sausage Gumbo later today. One pack of fresh green onion sausage, one Andouille sausage & two regular smoked pork sausage



Onto the Jumbo Joe it goes ...



There's young JJ doin' his thang with Big Brother WSM lookin' over his shoulder



Keeping hydrated with a Silver Bullet kept ice cold with my University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajun coozie in honor of today's game vs. Tulane University in the New Orleans Bowl ... Geaux Cajuns!!!



That Jumbo Joe sure knows how to make it stink so good!



Grilled up to be sliced & headed to the Gumbo Pot ...



I can honestly say that I LOVE my new Jumbo Joe & plan to use it often! Thanks for corrupting me, Tony!!! :cool:

Thanks, Jim! Yep, newer model with vents on the bottom. Considering adding a thermometer so I can have some sort of temperature benchmark & then fine-tune with a digital. I can really see getting a whole lotta use with this thing. Quick cooks for two, breakfast in the duck blind, tailgating, even a Chicken searing machine for a first Competition Cook that I might do in 2014 ... Have Weber, will travel !!! ;)
 
Heck of a good way to break in the JJ.... The gumo looks very tasty, Being from the North I have never had gumbo but I think I will have to make some of what you made.
 
Looking good! Nothing better for comfort food then good gumbo and that looks really good. Hey Tony I want to get a 18.5 WSM if I get busted by CEO can I blame you too?:)
