Jet Engine Steak

hey guys, even though I'm always looking for blue links on the photo gallery, I never post. Mostly before I think my food is boring.

I was watching Alton Brown's tuna episode and decided I had to try his jet engine again for searing steaks. I went to costco and bought a 3-pack on NY stips.

Salted the steak and let rest for 1 hour.

Got my jet engine ready.

I decided to put some ghee on the steak before cooking for some reason.

At the flip.

I peppered the steak and melted a dab on ghee on top. The cast iron pan cooked the veggies only this time. It all came out really good.

Gheee whiz, that looks fantastic. All kidding aside it really looks great and I've got to try the"jet engine" method. Congrats on a great cook.

That part I like a lot--got to try it.

Looks great! I recently cooked some steaks on the jet engine. This works really well for a fast, hot sear.
