It's a go in the snow

15.5 lb Empire apple honey brine turkey is in the smoker with maple and pecan wood in the snow here in northern NJ. It's a white Thanksgiving. This is my 13th year smoking a bird for Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I just put our 20 pounder on the Performer. Yep, snow here too. I think it's time for a beer. my youngset son dropped off a case of Sierra Nevada Celebration and I don't want to hurt his feelings.

Sounds great guys. We just ate one smoked, one fried, one smoked then fried, and a smoked ham. Had a little sleet this AM but that was about it other than wind. ...of course while enjoying a homebrewed spiced winter ale.
