Interesting Find at Costco

So, the one thing wife doesn't like about our Weber Flame is no "wood ambiance" and no smores. That is my rule as I don't want to have to clean a dropped wad of marshmallow out of there. So, wandering the Costco aisles and one outdoor product has always kind of intrigued me. SOLO Stove Smokeless fire pit. Well they now have little table top ones called Mesa and MesaXL. These are really well made products. All stainless steel and porcelain coated as well. So Costco had a deal going IDK if closeout or not for 2 MesaXL for $120. Looked them up on Amzon and they're $90 ea so I think it was a good deal. They're table top safe, I can burn little pieces of wood, (don't think I want to spend $40 for a little box of mini splits) and also pellets as for a pellet grill. So, if it's a night we don't feel like uncovering the Flame, and just want a little ambiance I can put one of them on the table and a couple handfuls of pellets and have a little table top fire.

I love s’mores! Chocolate, Graham cracker, marshmallow, I’m not seeing anything not to like once in a while. Generally marshmallows make me cringe but, two or three over the course of an entire year? Sure.

We have a Solo stove at camp. It burns almost completely and with less smoke as advertised but I would put them pretty low on the ambiance scale after spending a year using one. The flame is mostly trapped inside by the “vortex” action and there is little to no lateral or outward heat if you’re sitting around it with any sort of chill in the air. The heat is all directly above the unit. Hopefully, the tabletop units meet your family’s expectations more than the full size unit did for us.

They sell a heat deflector for both Mesa's and lucky for me the Mesa XL is the same diameter of the campfire that I have! Great deal for a solid product and Company!
Redirect the heat from Mesa’s toasty flames for a more cozy gathering. Increases Mesa’s heat radius by 2+ feet, ensuring that everyone has a warm seat at the table.

They sell a deflector to radiate the heat all around. Also TBH, it's more for the light and such.

I got one about six months ago. Hate it. So small it only holds one chunk of wood, and the wood that Solo sells is too big FOR THIER OWN STOVE. So I use chunks of bbq wood, which take about five minutes to burn. So the only way to keep it lit is to stand next to it and feed it all night long
