Hello All,
I have been inspired by many of your dishes over the past few months that I wanted to try a few. Derrick posted about making Kofta Kebabs last week so I decided to give the technique a try. Bob's whole grilled mushrooms looked awesome so I decided to do some myself. I did not have any ground lamb so I decided to use a mixture of 2/3 ground beef and 1/3 home made Italian sausage. I used cumin, fresh mint, and oregano to spice the meat. I marinated my mushrooms in home made garlic vinaigrette. Here are a few pics.

Kebabs, Marinated Mushrooms, and some Green Onions Ready for the Grill

Kebabs on Direct Over Medium Coals

Mushrooms on Direct Over Medium Coals

Onions Joining the Party After a Toss in the Garlic Marinade (Low Coals by Now)

Grilling the Pita Bread - Low Coals

Plated With Fresh Tomato, Home Made Tziziki Sauce, and Feta Cheese
This turned out great. The family enjoyed the change of pace and I learned a lot. We will definitely be doing this again. I want to tweak the flavor profile of the meat a bit (and try it with the original lamb). The mushrooms were a big hit too. Thanks for the inspiration everyone!
Regards,
John
